AUTHOR EVENTSText Box: The war in Iraq has been a predominant image splashed across our newspapers and television screens for so long that the story no longer seems to resonate. At best, it is a complex issue that only grows more convoluted with time. However, in The Kurds: A People in Search of Their Homeland , journalist Kevin McKiernan provides an intimate portrait of the Kurds that provokes critical analysis as well as a touchingly emotional involvement with the story. The Kurds do not have a country, they do not have home. Kurdistan is a label, a name, but not a real place. Kurdistan is the abstract dream of a home.
