Maureen Adams
Shaggy Muses:The Dogs Who Inspired Virginia Woolf, Emily Dickinson, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Edith Wharton and Emily Brontë
“An intimate look into the lives of famous women authors whose lives were more difficult than we would ever have imagined. Their dogs helped them to survive and create their great works of classic English literature. Lovers of literature and all of those interested in the human/animal bond should read this fascinating book.” — Temple Grandin , author of Animals in Translation
Maureen Adams is a psychologist and an English professor. http://www.shaggymuses.com/
At this event, The Book Works will also introduce Lenore Hawkins to the community. Ms. Hawkins is the owner of Buddy's, a new pet boutique (bowtique!) that is opening in the Flower Hill Promenade this fall (right next to The Book Works). Ms. Hawkins will have goody bags from Buddy's on hand, and she is contributing a wonderful door prize for the event: a large gift basket of doggie treats, toys, and accessories. For more information about Ms. Hawkins and Buddy's, see www.BuddysBowtique.com
